What Next?

Residents of Linton and Tollerton are encouraged by the recommendation to stop aircraft from overflying Newton on Ouse.

However, with the support of Linton Parish Council and SAFA, residents will continue to press for the circuit for Runway 04 to be reverted back to the original left hand pattern.

The logic for this is straightforward and compelling:

  • The RAF accept that there are no operational reasons or benefits to be gained from changing the circuit for 04.

  • It is MOD / RAF policy to avoid overflying residential areas wherever possible.

  • By reverting back to the original circuit for 04:
    • Linton village will not be overflown
    • Linton Primary School will not be overflown
    • Tollerton will be spared yet further noise disturbance

  • At HDC cabinet meeting, the RAF raised clear concerns about a last minute bid to change the circuit for runway 22 - on the grounds that Linton and Tollerton would be badly affected.

Why not be consistent and apply this same common sense logic to the circuit for Runway 04?

  • By reverting the circuit for Runway 04 to the original left hand pattern, NO RESIDENTIAL AREAS WILL BE OVERFLOWN.

What can I do to help?.
